REPORT: British Club Championships 2022

British Cycling awarded the Poole Club the 2022 British Club Championship. The event included nationwide clubs competing at all the age levels from U12 up to Veterans with races having taken place across the whole weekend of 11th-12th June.

The efforts of trio Jamie Randall, Teddy Curtis and Millie Shear allowed Poole to take match honours in the U12 event.

Maintaining the winning form, Poole’s women looked strong throughout the weekend, with Lexie Curtis, Daisy Sherwood and Natalie Goulden working together to win the U16 Girls event.

For the Senior Women’s event, Maddie Saunders joined the team used for the U16 event which proved to be a team too strong for the rest, with the Comets taking the win.

In the U14 event, Natalie Goulden, Riley Nation, Teddy Curtis and Jamie Randall raced their way to third place on the podium.

It was third spot in the U16 event for Ollie Saunders and Kenzie Bennett who lined up for the Poole club.

In the U18 event, the four rider team included Josh Nottle, Feroze Langoo, Maddie Saunders and Kenzie Bennett. Their efforts were enough to see them take third in this event.

The three rider team for the Veterans event included Alan Nation, Steve Nation and Phil Guard. Their efforts took them to third in the over 40s event.

The final event of the weekend was the final of the Men’s Open Club event. In this event the five rider team of Aaron Smith, Wil Bristowe, Connor Tucker, Matt Mildon and Feroze Langoo fought their way to second, despite beating the eventual winners in the qualifying round.
