Poole take victory in the regional Division 1 and 2 matches

Poole vs Newport

Poole welcomed our friends from Newport South Wales today for regional Division 1 and Division 2 matches.

Division 1

The Poole duo of captain Wil Bristowe and Oliver Saunders opened the match with a fine 7-3 win. Wil went on to clock up a very impressive 17 points to continue the fine season he has had in team racing. Oliver scored a brilliant 13 points with 3 bonus points along the way for a paid 16.

Greg Gluckowski scored a maximum 20 points from 5 rides which is impressive considering he is still carrying a wrist injury. Following suit with a maximum was Fez Langoo. Well done to both riders.

Poole’s Under 14 British champion Teddy Curtis turned on the style to rack up a very handy 11 points plus 3 bonus points to give him a paid 14. He has a very bright future ahead of him.

Josh Nottle and Alan Nation as always fought hard to bring home some very valuable points, 7 & 6 respectively.

A racing return for one of Poole’s legends Pete Young saw him race to a fine 4 plus 1 bonus point. It was fantastic to see Pete back performing on the track.

Final Score:

Poole 108 – Newport 79

Division 2

A fantastic Division 2 match followed the main event with teams consisting of under 16 riders, the youngest from Newport being 7 years old. The riders were split into two groups depending on abilities.

The whole team put on a brilliant performance with some great team riding!

Poole won both categories to take the overall win.

Current British Under 14 Champion and captain Teddy Curtis was very impressive only dropping 1 point to an opposition rider. His sister and current British Under 12 Champion Lullah Curtis also rode brilliantly along with Millie Shear who rode some very skilful rides to pile on the points.

In Group 2 Iris Randall did a superb job taking some very valuable points and gaining lots of confidence along the way. Tilly Shear missed out on a paid Maximum by 1 point after putting in some fine displays of team riding in all her rides.
